Why Chiropractic?
For those of you who haven’t had chiropractic care, why should you? What benefits does it offer and what makes chiropractic unique?
Chiropractic overlaps in some ways with your traditional primary care, some with your physical therapist and some with your massage therapist. But there are other aspects that are unique to chiropractic. Read below about the benefits of chiropractic care.
Pain Relief
Let’s be honest. Most of you aren’t looking for maintenance care right now. You let things go too long, tweaked something, and you want to get out of pain and back to life quickly. We can help with that. Even in extreme pain, we have safe, gentle, and effective techniques to start you on the road to recovery as soon as possible. You are always in charge, and together we can find a treatment approach that works for you, wherever you are at.
Same Week Appointment
Mainstream medicine is broken. There are plenty of good doctors, nurses, and staff out there, but can you get in to see them? Most systems are overloaded, requiring a wait of weeks to months to get in and see your doctor. Then weeks more for the specialist or physical therapist.
We can get you in this week, probably in the next day or two. Reach out today and get relief before the weekend.
Improved Mobility
Motion is lotion. Keeping joints moving is an essential component of staying healthy and injury free. Mobilizing joints improves range of motion, flexibility, and overall performance. A lot of times you won’t even feel the restrictions until we get things moving. We hear all the time “wow, I didn’t realize it was so stiff until it started moving again.”
True Healing
One of the main differences between mainstream western medicine and chiropractic is that western medicine thinks healing comes from the outside, usually in the form of drugs or surgery. Chiropractic believes in the innate power of the human body to heal itself; we just need to remove the interference that hinders that healing. Chiropractic adjustments reduce tension, improve blood flow, and restore nervous system function. A balanced body is a healing body.
Stability
While a lot of chiropractic is focused on mobility, its only great if you know how to control it. Mobility without stability is risking injury.
Stability won’t come from an adjustment, but from addressing movement patterns in the gym. This doesn’t mean you need to be a fitness freak, but just to learn to use your body correctly as you move through life. The better you move, the less treatment you need.
Avoid Drugs or Surgery
Both pharmaceuticals and surgery have their place in medicine, and we would be much worse off without both. But often we go to these as first line defenses, before they are really necessary. Every intervention has a risk, and it is safer to attempt more conservative care first. In many (most) cases, we can resolve issues without the need for drugs or surgery. And if we can’t? Those options are always available.
Better Posture
Take a look at anyone in their seventies or eighties that is thriving physically. What is one thing they all have in common? Good posture. Posture is the key to a well functioning system, from nerve, to blood, to muscles, to immune. Good posture matters and chiropractic can help restore it, then teach you how to maintain it.
Improved Performance
Better mobility, better nerve and vascular function, less muscle tension, improved proprioception. All of these work together to have you performing at the highest level. From the Olympic athlete to the weekend warrior, maximize your ability to perform with chiropractic.
Your Common Questions, Answered
-
An adjustment is a precise, controlled movement applied to a joint—either in the spine or extremities—to improve motion, reduce pain, and restore proper alignment. You might hear a “pop,” which is just gas releasing from the joint (like cracking your knuckles).
-
Very safe. Sometimes more force is warranted, other times less, but we take the time to find the appropriate care for you on that day. Sometimes adjustment isn’t the correct treat-ment, and we have lots of other tools available.
For an outside assessment, look at our malpractice insurance costs, they are the lowest in medicine. If we were hurting people, insurance would know.
-
The risk of stroke with chiropractic is no higher than going to the hair salon. Most strokes in the neck come from the carotid artery. Studies have shown no impact on the carotid artery with manipulation.
-
Treatment can sometimes cause residual soreness, similar to after a hard workout, particularly in the first few appointments. It usually goes away within 24-36 hours and will get progressively less after each visit. You can always reach out and ask if what you are feeling is normal.
-
Very! Chiropractic is a great choice to help keep you comfortable throughout your pregnancy. We have treated dozens and dozens of pregnant women with safe and effective results.
-
Chiropractic is great for kids! I treat my own regularly and have some clients that have been with me through their entire childhood.
-
Of course not. As with any therapy, there are times when higher frequency is appropriate and times where care is unnecessary. What you may find is that your body feels so much better after chiropractic that you choose to come in more regularly. But that choice is entirely yours.

We do not bill insurance, and payment is expected at the time of service (unless other arrangements have been made prior to treatment). But we can issue a “superbill” which is a coded invoice you can turn into your insurer for potential reimbursement.
If you want to know if you have coverage before an appointment, call your insurance company and ask the following questions:
1) Do you have OUT-OF-NETWORK chiropractic coverage?
2) What is your OUT-OF-NETWORK deductible and how much have you met for the year?
